Goodnight and Thank You, One Tree Hill || OTH Access Blog

    The day is here.

April 4th, 2012. The last ever episode of One Tree Hill airs tonight.

For long time fans this may seem a lot more surreal than to people who have just recently picked up the show.
The long time fans were there when there was almost no full season 1. They were there when The WB became The CW. They were there during the writers strike of ‘07-‘08. They were there during the confusion and sadness when 2 core characters left the show. They fought to bring it back the show after season 5..after season 6..after season 7..and after season 8.

The most important qualities that OTH fans possess are passion and loyalty. If the fans lacked those qualities, the show would not have made it to this day.

We all grew together, cried together, laughed together, gasped together. After 9 years of basketball, break ups, amazing music, girl fights, babies, weddings, funerals, car crashes, and of course, psychos, we made it to this day.

We wouldn’t have this show without Mark Schwahn and Joe Davola and we are forever grateful to them. We hope that all fans will continue to support their future endeavors, as well as those of the cast.

To name every member of the cast from the past 9 years and thank them for bringing such honest characters to life would take days!
There’s no doubt that the talent is absolutely overflowing within this show, from the extras to the recurring characters and from the guest stars to the regulars.

However, we cannot go without giving a special thank you to James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray, and Hilarie Burton.
    The “Core 5”.
The fact that Chad and Hilarie were not in all nine seasons doesn’t take away from the fact that the characters they portrayed are part of the essence of OTH. All five of these actors and their characters helped build the foundation of One Tree Hill, and that will never be forgotten.

From the OTH Access Blog, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the support over the years. The purpose of this blog has been to provide OTH fans with a place to go to have access to everything about their favorite show. All the facts and all the latest news. Every follow, reblog, like, and kind message have been so greatly appreciated!

Now where do we go from here? Well, the good thing about saying “goodnight” is that you know that night doesn’t last forever and there’s sunshine on the other end.

So keep watching OTH on SoapNet, buy all the DVDs, have fun marathons with your friends, suport the cast and crew in their future projects! The idea of a reunion in the future is not impossible! ;)

Most importantly: keep your loyalty and passion going strong.

“Tree Hill is a place, and if you look close enough.. you may see someone, someone like you just trying to find their way”

    From James Lafferty via Twitter:

Just want to apologize to everyone for not being able to make it to the Q&A in Hollywood. I booked all kinds of travel before I knew about it. Wish I could be there for the good time that it will inevitably be. In an effort to be somewhat involved, I would like to submit a question via Twitter: Is Mark Schwahn wearing his leather pants right now?

One Tree Hill Season 7 Recap

Season 7 of OTH brought us our favorite characters 14 months after the blissful ending of season 6.
We left off seeing the core 5 reach some of their biggest goals: Lucas and Peyton riding off peacefully into the sunset with baby Sawyer, Nathan finally making it to the NBA, and Brooke was finally able to profess her true feelings for Julian.

Of course everything didn’t stay very blissful for long once we were thrown into season 7!

This recap will follow the biggest storylines that each major character faced.

In season 7 we were introduced to some brand new characters who came to Tree Hill. Some caused comfort, some caused chaos!

    Clay Evans:

As mentioned, at the end of season 6 Nathan was called up to join the NBA. So, of course, he needs an agent, right? Enter Clay Evans. Clay is Nathan’s agent and has become a very close friend to Nathan, almost like a brother. Clay is very close to Haley and Jamie as well. Clay is a very laid back kind of guy who loves to party, which doesn’t sit well with Haley since she doesn’t want her husband to be around a bunch of groupies.
Before becoming Nathan’s agent, Clay was married to a woman named Sara who died way too soon and sometimes Clay still sees the ghost of his late wife (what’s Tree Hill without ghosts, right?). Since his wife died, Clay spent a lot of time sleeping around, but never was able to settle. Finally, in season 7, he came to terms with his wife’s death and was able to move onto a mature relationship with new character, Quinn James.
Also, Clay had a stalker named Katie Ryan who looked identical to his late wife Sara. Katie tried to take the place of his wife by even going as far as breaking into his house and finding information about Sara that only Clay and close friends would know. Katie became very dangerous.

    Quinn James:

Quinn James is a professional photographer and one of Haley’s 3 sisters who comes to Tree Hill right after leaving her husband David. Quickly after coming to Tree Hill she begins a romance with Clay Evans (which starts a little trouble between Clay and Nathan because Nathan only knows Clay as a playboy). Eventually Nathan comes to terms with their relationship after he realized how deeply Clay cares for Quinn.
Quinn quickly fits in with the gang, especially after Brooke hires her to shoot photos for Clothes Over Bros.

    Alex Dupre:

Alex Dupre is a Lindsay Lohan-esque actress. She has a bad behind-the-scenes rep because she’s never on time and has a drug and alcohol problem, however, she is a hot on-screen commodity.
When Brooke casts Alex as the new face of Clothes Over Bros, it causes a lot of trouble.
Alex becomes close friends with Milicent and, unfortunately, introduces Millie to the world of drugs and leads her to becoming addicted to cocaine.
Alex also becomes close with Julian who decides to cast her in his newest movie as well as work with her as a co-writer.
While working endless days and nights together, Alex tries her best to take Julian away from Brooke, and unfortunately, her vulnerable nature makes Julian want to be the one to help her through tough times.
After realizing she couldn’t trust Alex with Julian, Brooke fires Alex as the face of Clothes Over Bros.
When Julian sees his relationship with Brooke slipping away, he forces Alex to realize that he loves Brooke and only Brooke. Alex attempts to kill herself and Julian finds her right before it’s too late.
Luckily Alex is able to come back healthier (and sober) to see the movie that she starred in (and co-wrote) become successful.

    Nathan and Haley:

Season 7 may have been one of the toughest seasons ever for Haley. Since Peyton left town with Lucas, one of Haley’s new responsibilities is to take over Red Bedroom Records. This is perfect timing because in season 7, Haley returns to the studio to record a brand new album and also decides to go back on tour.
When a woman named Renee comes out of the blue claiming that Nathan is the father of her baby, it almost ruins Nathan and Haley’s relationship as well as Nathan’s career. Haley becomes very defensive and even hits Renee outside of Tric one night and ends up getting sent to jail (leading Brooke to call her Jail-y). Luckily, Renee drops the charges against Haley, but Renee’s allegations about Nathan fathering her baby still has Haley on edge.
Renee then lands on Dan’s talk show where he tricks her into revealing that she did get pregnant by someone, but it wasn’t Nathan.
After Nathan’s fate as an NBA player is secure, Nathan and Jamie surprise Haley by going on tour with her.
When the Scotts return from the tour, Haley’s mom comes to Tree Hill and informs her daughters that she is suffering from pancreatic cancer. After spending some last special moments with her daughters, Lydia James lost her battle with the disease which causes Haley to go into a deep depression.
When the gang goes on a trip to Utah to a film festival where Julian’s movie is premiering, Haley sees an owl that she feels is some kind of message from her mom. This sign takes her out of the depression.
In the finale, Haley reveals to Nathan that she is pregnant with a girl.

    Brooke and Julian:

Brooke and Julian’s relationship began blissful in season 7, but became very tumultuous until the very end. On top of the drama that Alex Dupre brought to their relationship which even caused them to break up for a period of time, Brooke also found out that she wasn’t able to have kids. This revelation from her doctors completely broke her heart and she almost felt like she didn’t deserve Julian because she couldn’t give him a family. However, he assured her that he would stay with her no matter what.
Along with relationship drama, Brooke continued to deal with her crazy mother, Victoria, who began a relationship with Alexander, a much younger Australian man who came to Tree Hill to help Brooke with the men’s line of Clothes Over Bros. When  Victoria and Alexander were caught having sex at the opening of Quinn’s gallery, Brooke was extremely embarrassed and pissed off!
After a crazy couple of months, Brooke and Julian finally were able to find peace in their relationship when everyone went to Utah to support Julian and his movie. Julian’s movie was received so well at the film festival and he decided to propose to Brooke in the beautiful, snowy hills of Park City, Utah, and of course she said yes!

    Misc:

In season 7 Dan and Rachel return to Tree Hill for a small vacation. It is revealed that Dan and Rachel have married each other (Yes, Dan Scott and Rachel Gatina) and work together on Dan’s talk show. Rachel tried to apologize to Brooke for stealing her money by giving her a check to pay her back (a la season 5), but Brooke does not want anything to do with Rachel so she slaps her and walks away. Before we say goodbye to Rachel for good, she does serve Dan with divorce papers.

Millicent moves from working as Brooke’s assistant to actually being a Clothes Over Bros model for the new line called “Zero Is Not A Size”. After being around models and becoming friends with Alex Dupre, Millie becomes addicted to cocaine which ruins her relationships with Mouth, Brooke, and eventually even Alex. After seeking help, she was able to re-build the broken relationships and get her job back at Clothes Over Bros.

In the season 7 finale, Clay and Quinn were both shot at Clay’s beach house by Clay’s stalker, Katie, and left in critical conditions.
